About form fields

Once you add form tags to your document you can start adding form objects. You use form objects to request information from site visitors.

Use form fields when you want to set up a form in which visitors type their response, such as their name and address. There are three types of fields you can insert in a form—text fields (in which a user types a response), file fields (in which a user enters the path of a file to upload to your server, and hidden fields (which store information a user entered in another field).

As you add a field to a form you can set the field's length, number of lines the field contains, number of characters a user can enter, and whether the field is a password field.
