By default, the remote site (or the local site map) appears on the left side of the Site window and the local site appears on the right. You can switch these displays.
To change the Site window layout:
1 | Choose Edit > Preferences and select the Site category. |
2 | Do either of the following: |
Select Local Files from the Always Show menu, and then choose whether to display the local files on the right or left side of the Site window. | |
The local site appears on the side you have selected, and the remote site (or the site map) appears on the opposite side. When you choose this option, the local site files view is always shown in the Site window, even when you collapse the window to one pane. | |
Select Remote Files from the Always Show menu, and then choose whether to display the remote files on the right or the left. | |

3 | Click OK to apply changes and close the Preferences dialog box. |
To change the view area:
In the Site window, do one of the following:
Drag the bar that separates the two views to increase or decrease the view area of the right or left window. | |
Use the scroll bars at the bottom of the Site window to scroll through the views' contents. | |
In the site map, drag the arrow above a file to change the space between files. |
To collapse the Site window to one view:
Click the small white triangle button in the lower left of the Site window.
Note: The view that remains visible is the one you chose to always show in the Site preferences dialog box.
