Testing and Publishing a Site > Using Reports to test a site |
When testing your site, you can compile and generate reports for several HTML attributes by using the Reports command. This command lets you check external links, combinable nested font tags, missing Alt text, redundant nested tags, removable empty tags, and untitled documents. You can test and troubleshoot selected documents or an entire site for these HTML problems before you publish.
Once a report is compiled, you save it as an XML file and import it into an existing template file. You can then import the template file into a database or spreadsheet and print it, or display it on a Web site. You can also add different report types to Dreamweaver through the Macromedia Dreamweaver Exchange Web site.(See Adding extensions to Dreamweaver.)
To use the Reports command to work with the check in/check out system and Design Notes, see Using reports to improve workflow.
